I produce electronic music using two instruments made up of the gear I have. I call them Circuits and Digitakt. Both are in the same physical setup, but have very different workflows. I have a DAW, but it doesn't see much use outside sample creation.
My gear

- Novation Circuit Tracks (Groovebox, 2021)
- Zoom H2n handy recorder (Recorder, 2011)
- KORG Volca Bass (Synthesizer, 2013)
- Waldorf Blofeld (Synthesizer, 2007)
- Roland Aira S1 (Synthesizer, 2023)
- Arturia Keystep (Keyboard, 2024)
- Novation Circuit Rhythm (Groovebox, 2021)
- Elektron Digitakt I (Groovebox, 2017)
- Behringer Xenyx QX1002USB (Mixer, 2012)
Circuits
This instrument is sequenced and performed on both Circuit Tracks and Circuit Rhythm while Keystep is used as a keyboard and to modulate synth parameters. Blofeld, S1, and Volca Bass are sequenced by the Circuits. Digitakt is used as a effects processor. Everything is hooked up to the Xenyx mixer. The instrument has 4 polyphonic synth tracks and 12 monophonic sample tracks with per track effects and a master low- and highpass filter. The synthesis based workflow is intuitive, fast, and easy to remember.
Digitakt
Elektron Digitakt I as standalone relies on my sample library and can also be used with the Circuit Rhythm that acts as the filter and FX processor. Digitakt has 8 monophonic sample tracks. These two smaller setups are a fun alternative sample based workflow for the Circuits.
Post production
When I'm performing live or in my studio I record my sets with a handheld recorder.
